據外媒報道，微軟公司于近日發布消息稱，現在,，美國國內已經有越來越多的學校開始部署Windows 8系統作為在教學過程中使用Windows 8系統。在使用Windows 8系統的同時，這些學校還將配合modern版的Office 2013以及Office 365套件。

消息之所以會選擇Windows 8設備很大一部分原因是微軟為它們提供了比iPad更加人性化、更有針對性的服務。

截止到目前以下這幾所學校都已經開始使用Windows 8：Albemarle County Schools (弗吉尼亞州)、 Auburn City Schools (阿拉巴馬州)、Clear Creek Independent School District (德州)、Laredo Independent School District (德州)、Leon County Schools (佛羅里達州)、Palmer Trinity School (佛羅里達州)、San Diego Unified School District (加州)、 Somers Central School District (紐約州), Springfield Public Schools (馬薩諸塞州)、、Walnut Valley Unified School District (加州)、24所位于緬因州教育區的學校，其中有Scarborough School District、Brewer School Department、Maine School District #74、Maine School District #60，另外還有Atlanta Public Schools (喬治亞州)、Fresno Unified School District (加州)、San Antonio Independent School District (德州)。
