解決無法安裝VMWARE Tools的問題
在此次解決解決無法安裝VMWARE Tools的問題的例子中，筆者采用的環境如下：
主機：win xp sp2 虛擬平臺：VMWARE 4.5.2 在其上安裝RedHat9.0。
無法安裝VMWARE Tools的問題現象：能夠進入圖形界面，但是總是提示沒有安裝VMWARE Tools。具體如下：
A previous installation of VMware software has been detected.
The previous installation was made by the tar installer (version 3).
Keeping the tar3 installer database format.
Uninstalling the tar installation of VMware Tools.
Stopping VMware Tools services in the virtual machine:
Guest operating system daemon: [ 確定 ]
The removal of VMware Tools 4.5.2 build-8848 for Linux completed successfully.

無法安裝VMWARE Tools的問題原因：沒有配置該工具。vmware-config-tools.pl需要根據你的顯示器分辨率進行配置，然后才能加強鼠標功能。
解決：需要進行如下操作：
#init 3（保證在超級用戶模式下，進入文字界面）
然后輸入
login：root
password：
#cd /usr/bin
#vmware-config-tools.pl
然后根據提示設置，完成后reboot一下，這個無法安裝VMWARE Tools的問題就可以解決了。
